Thought I'd drop a line and say hey after a busy 09' season....and a promising looking '10 season

I was able to make it out to the coast of Oregon early December for ten days of swinging for steelhead and late kings...I went 1 for 7 and lost one big king (30-35lbs). Had everything from low clear water to blown rivers and nice sunny days to a morning that was 9 degrees warm when we put in. And no surprise but beads were the hot pattern....

I then had the chance to bum it up in Seattle for the last two weeks and chased some dolly varden aka bull trout and steelhead in the puget sound rivers. I also ran out to Forks on the olympic peninsula for two days and went 1 for 4 on steelhead in the bogichiel, calawah, and hoh rivers. The dollies all came on flesh flies on the swing which was nice....the steelhead were still sluggish, but estaz eggs got the nod.

Hope everyone had a great holiday!

El Nino crapped on the Erie Spring Run. So don't feel too bad Eben. We never got the numbers without the snow in winter and spring rains. I would kill though to fish to real anadromous chrome, I think its time I move myself west of the Mississippi!!!

Yeah, was a tough steelhead year for a lot of people this year.  And I recommend living West of the Mississippi for anyone.  Of course, don't tell that to anyone, we have enough people already!
